To check the location of your AirPods:

  1. Open the Find My? app on your iPhone.

  2. Select your AirPods under "Devices". If they are not in the charging case, select the left or right AirPod. For AirPods Pro 2 and newer models, you can also choose the charging case.

  3. Find your AirPods on the map.

  4. If your AirPods aren't nearby, tap Get Directions to see their location in the Maps app.

  5. If your AirPods are nearby, tap Play Sound and see if you hear your AirPods beep.

  6. Depending on your AirPods and iPhone, you may also select the Find Nearby option. If available, tap it and wait for AirPods to connect to your iPhone. Then follow the instructions shown.

But what to do if none of the AirPods are in the charging case. In this case you unfortunately cannot use the “Where is” function.

Unfortunately, the charging case itself does not have a Bluetooth connection. In this case, all you have to do is go the old school route. Think carefully about where you might have misplaced your charging case and search in these places.

With any luck you'll find it again. If not, you unfortunately have no choice but to purchase a new charging case. You can find these here.

By the way, we always recommend that you buy an original charging case, as you are on the safe side and there are no annoying problems.

Locate Airpod Case without Airpods: Is it possible?

It is not possible to locate the AirPods charging case if there are no AirPods inside. The location function via "Where is?" on the iPhone only works for the AirPods themselves, not for the charging case alone.

    Can stolen AirPods be connected?

If your AirPods are stolen, the thief may only be able to connect them unless you disconnect them. The AirPods are linked to the original owner's Apple account and normally automatically sync with all of the owner's devices that use the same iCloud account.

However, Apple has built in security measures to make AirPods more difficult to steal. For example, another user's AirPods cannot be connected to another device unless the thief has access to your iCloud account and associated credentials.

If your AirPods are lost or stolen, it is advisable to use the location function via the Find My? app. You can try locating the AirPods on a map or making them ring. Additionally, you should contact Apple Support to take further steps, such as reporting the loss and, if necessary, locking the AirPods to prevent unauthorized connections.

Can you charge AirPods without a case?

No, AirPods cannot be charged without a charging case. So sooner or later you will need a replacement if you lose your charging case.

    What is tracked on AirPods?
