Lost an AirPod? Find a compatible replacement

Lost an AirPod, or is just one earbud faulty? You can replace the left AirPod, the right AirPod or the charging case individually and keep using the compatible parts that still work. The replacement needs to match your existing model and the correct version.

Our product finder below helps you choose. Have your remaining AirPod or charging case to hand so you can compare the model details.

Lost one AirPod? Try finding it before replacing it

Before ordering a replacement, check whether you can locate the missing AirPod in Apple's Find My app. The search features available depend on your model and the situation. Our guide to finding lost AirPods explains what to try.

If one AirPod is still missing, you don't need to replace the whole set. Apple also offers a replacement service for AirPods and charging cases. At OneEarPod, you'll find individual genuine Apple parts in the condition options listed for each product. If you still have an earbud but it has sound problems, check it before buying a replacement: not every problem means it needs replacing.

Which replacement AirPod matches your set?

Check the model number and which side is missing. The model number begins with an “A” and is printed in small text on the earbud. You can also find it in the AirPods settings on your connected iPhone or iPad. It is different from the serial number. Our AirPods model identification guide shows you where to look.

Details you need to choose a replacement
Your existing modelCheck before ordering
AirPods 2 or AirPods 3The exact generation and the missing side, left or right.
AirPods 4Also check whether you have the version with or without Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). A replacement case must match that version too.
AirPods Pro 1 or AirPods Pro 3The exact Pro generation and the missing side. The name “Pro” alone is not enough to choose a replacement.
AirPods Pro 2Also check whether you have the Lightning or USB-C version, using the model numbers on the earbuds and case.

Use these details to select the matching version on the product page. A similar shape or the same charging connector does not confirm compatibility. If you can't read the model number or the details don't match, contact us before ordering. A photo of the printed markings will help us identify the model.

Compare the price, condition and what's included

The price of a replacement AirPod depends on the model, version and condition. Our individual AirPods selection shows current prices and available options. If you only need a case, see our replacement charging cases.

Depending on the product, you can choose from “Brand new”, “Like New” and “Good”. Brand new means unused. The other two options are refurbished, tested and disinfected pre-owned items; they differ in the visible signs of wear. Our condition guide explains the differences in more detail.

Check what's included before buying: when you order a single left or right AirPod, you are buying that earbud only. A second earbud or charging case is included only if it is explicitly listed. You'll find shipping costs and delivery terms for your destination in our shipping information and at checkout.

Connect the replacement to your existing AirPods

Once it arrives, set up the replacement with your existing set. Charge both earbuds in the matching case, then pair them with your device again. Our setup guide covers models with a setup button. For AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 3, follow the different steps in Apple's guide to setting up replacement AirPods.

AirPod replacement questions

Can I replace just the left or right AirPod?

Yes. Choose the missing side and the matching generation and version. You can keep using your other working earbud.

Can I pair a newer AirPod with my old one?

Choose a replacement for your existing model. A single earbud from a newer generation is not an upgrade for your current pair. Check the model details and compatibility information on the product page.

What should I do if the replacement won't connect?

First check that you chose the correct version, then follow the setup instructions for your model. If it still won't connect, our support team can help. Include your order number and the model numbers of both earbuds and the charging case.
